About Gather Sort Store

Evelyn Wilder

Evelyn is a born organizer. When her Dad took her to the hardware store as a little girl, she'd find the aisle with all the small things in boxes like bolts and washers and busy herself making piles and rows. A first career in film editing (organizing and arranging movie shots and scenes) and a second career in graphic design (organizing and arranging information, words and images) have suited Evelyn very well.

When her daughter started preschool and began bringing home prolific piles of artwork, she knew she was in trouble. How do you keep all that paper from getting out of hand? By the time her daughter started Kindergarten, a way to manage all that paper had evolved into Gather Sort Store.

Kathy Tracy

Kathy Tracy has a bachelors’ degree in Fine Arts and a Visual Communications degree from Art Institute of Colorado. A mother of two budding artist, Kathy knows about the creative process and how much paper it can consume. “I always encourage my boys not to limit themselves to one piece, there is always more paper.” She keeps a ream of white paper handy just for their creative expression. “A few prized pictures go in a frame on the walls of our home, then I sort the rest with the boys and the favorites go into their Gather Sort Store presentation books”.

“It is sad to see a pile of artwork and school work sitting on the kitchen counter, under their beds, all over my fridge, knowing that it will most likely end up in the trash”. The book idea evolved as a way to archive their artwork in a small amount of space without having to spend a lot of time putting it together. Putting all the loose papers in a box completed the idea and makes the whole system easier. For busy moms, this system streamlines from busy clutter to tidy presentation books.
